A pseudo-alliance

Sir: That Imran Khan would protest against the alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections along with none other than Tahirul Qadri surprises and puts one in awe at the same time. If he was aware of the rigging, what made him wait for one year to start a street agitation? And what made him choose Tahirul Qadri who had been considered a spoiler of the May 2013 elections? Other then becoming an exercise in futility, the protest will be viewed as an attempt to destabilise the government. Imran Khan is generally regarded as an honest and sincere person, but many of his supporters are disappointed with his political posturing on certain issues. His inconsistent stance on issues like drones, NATO and now Geo has compelled people to conclude that he lacks political maturity.
I suggest that Imran revisit his original political position and play an active role as an opposition in parliament rather than orchestrating street protests that could prove counterproductive.
