Sir: We are almost sick and tired of receiving SPAM calls and SMS for everything on earth for sale or seeking our attention on a political or social issue. Lately the SMS from the local TV network has been another nuisance making us believe how journalism is being slaughtered on the altar of national interest. How could these marketing companies get hold of our numbers? It cannot be possible without the connivance of the mobile companies. It means that our privacy is being infringed upon under the nose of the Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) as well. This is a sheer violation of PTA’s privacy guidelines. Is there anyone who could look into the matter?
