Sir: The UK has a strong set of laws against hate speech. These laws had been gradually expanded to protect the multi-ethnic society from religious or racial hatred. Altaf Hussain had been involved in a similar kind of controversy. However, Scotland Yard swiftly left the issue for its failure to meet the legal criteria. No decision could have been more appropriate, because whatever Altaf Hussain had said was about the people living in Pakistan, which had nothing to do with the British back home.
