Real cause of terrorism

Author: Daily Times

Sir: On June 16, Chief Justice (CJ) of Pakistan, Justice Tasaduq Hussain Jillani, while addressing a gathering in Quetta, remarked that terrorism originates from intolerance. With due respect I would like to partially differ with the CJ because I believe that not only intolerance but injustice as well breeds terrorism. The performance of the judiciary has not been satisfactory all these years. The performance of the courts often remind me of one of the famous dialogues of yesteryears filmstar Waheed Murad: “Judge Sahib, court insaaf nahin sirf tareekh deti he” (Honorable Judge, the court only gives dates, not justice).

Unless judges are made responsible for explaining the reasons for delay in a case, the performance of the judiciary would not change, and nor would the fate of the nation.
