Sir: The prime minister had assured the people that during Ramzan there would be minimal load shedding. Regretfully the assurance has proved to be a mere promise. Right in the federal capital, which is the heart of the country and where the PM, the minister and the secretary for water and power reside, the load shedding situation is very bad.

The plight of the residents of E-11 National Police Foundation sector is particularly pathetic. Power supply is switched off for almost eight hours, which is too much to bear during Ramzan. The IESCO and the NPF authorities blame each other for defective wiring and inefficiency while the residents suffer.
