A bold step

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Baroness Sayeeda Warsi’s resignation is a commendable and heroic step. Britain’s policy on Gaza, like that of many western countries, seems to be one-sided, and in favour of Israel. The Baroness has shown to the world that in the interests of justice and humanity, one should always speak out and not be with the oppressors. One only wishes there were more such persons like her — more leaders who are bold and sincere. What are the Muslim leaders doing? Has any Muslim country stood up and showed willingness to help the Palestinians? “Sit back, watch and let the Palestinians suffer,” seems to be the policy of all the Muslim countries. It clearly reveals disunity among the Muslims today.
