Sir: With respect to the continuous rains taking place in Lahore, the concerned authorities should try to minimise the problems and damage. Many areas of Lahore are literally flooded with water. There is no proper drainage system in some areas due to which people are facing a lot of problems. Many roads are blocked and many are flooded with water, and so transport vehicles are unable to function on these roads. A chaotic scene was observed on some of the main roads of Lahore today. Also, our wiring system is vulnerable to these rains due to which half the city faced a severe electricity shortage today. The government should focus on constructing a proper drainage system as well as waterproof wires that should be installed urgently in order to avoid accidents.
