After taking a fantastic opening of Rs 10.27 crores on Day 1, ‘Half Girlfriend’ has seen a steady jump in collections, raking in an impressive Rs 10.63 crores on its second day.

‘Half Girlfriend’ pre-release buzz gave the film an edge on its opening day- taking collections to an impressive Rs 10.27 crores.

While the film has solidly held onto its audience on the second day, it has already clocked a whooping non-theatrical deal for music, satellite, digital and overseas rights, at Rs 36 crores! The Cost of Production and P&A took the film to a landed cost of Rs 50 crores. With Rs 36 crores already garnered from pre-sales deals, the film needs to do Rs 28 crores to break even.

A trade source adds, “‘Half Girlfriend’ is doing exceptionally well outside of the metros, especially in all big cities in the Hindi markets and all mass multiplex markets. Such films generally see a drop on Saturday but the film instead grew as the metros picked up in the afternoon and evening shows – taking the total to Rs 10.63 crores on the second day. With a solid Rs 20.9 crores in two days, ‘Half Girlfriend’ looks set for a spectacular weekend number between Rs 32-34 crores!”
