Tax returns

Author: Dr Mohammad Taqi

Sir: The FBR has extended the date for e–filing the tax returns from August 31 to September 30. But unfortunately the tax form is not updated on the FBR website. It is unpleasant but true that the FBR is in a hurry to impose penalties but not aware about the job at their end. E-filing is mandatory by the FBR for all taxpayers who are already on the tax net but they have made no efforts to extend the tax net. The burden is on regular taxpayers but there is no policy to deal with defaulters. I request the Federal Bureau of Revenue to facilitate taxpayers by every means possible.
