Never learning their lesson

Author: Daily Times

Sir: After every two or three years we witness a horrific flood. These devastating floods kill hundreds and leave thousands homeless at the mercy of a distraught government. A responsible regime would have acknowledged this repetitive crisis and built dams in the potentially flood prone areas. This same act of God could have been harnessed into energy building fodder that could help feed our deficient power sources. But alas! While the flood affected sleep without food, clothing and a roof over their heads, our self-proclaimed ‘revolutionists’ have not only turned the capital into a playground for their hooligans to loot and abuse but have lodged themselves as a constant obstruction in the path of the government performing its duties.
