Sir: It was almost four years ago when we last faced massive floods. They have ravaged us again and here we are still sitting without any resources or preparations to cope with this disaster. Floods have killed hundreds of people including women and children and displaced thousands. Moreover, as most of the areas of Punjab are submerged in water, there are chances of outbreak of dengue, cholera and other fatal diseases. As in 2010, the army is again there to rescue affected people whereas the Chief Minister of Punjab and the prime minister are flying all over the Punjab province to show that they are trying their best to handle this disaster. But the fact remains that we never learn from our experiences.
