Floods and cynical politics

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Altaf Hussain decided to resign as MQM party chief and then withdrew his decision within a few hours, apparently on the ‘insistence’ of his followers. This is not the first time he has played this game. He once threatened to divide Sindh province saying that Urdu-speakers should be given ministries but later on changed his stance. It is clear by now that there is no need to take Altaf Hussian or his statements seriously. In Punjab, people are dying because of heavy floods, in Balochistan mutilated bodies are found on roadsides, parts of Sindh are facing drought, and others wait for the floods to cause damage. In short, the whole of Pakistan is going through harsh times. Yet our politicians including Imran Khan, Tahirul Qadri and Altaf Hussain are all busy in executing their theatrics and no one is interested in taking care of the affected and helpless people.
