Sir: The internally displaced persons (IDPs) have been through enough already but now we can add death and destruction to the long list of atrocities being faced by them. A bomb blast in a Hangu IDP camp has killed eight people and injured many more. This is one of the most inhumane acts I have ever heard of, even in a place like Pakistan where tragedy seems to visit the people every day.
What is the fault of these IDPs? They have left their homes and lives behind for the sake of a safer Pakistan. They have been greeted with little to no help, camps devoid of amenities and a people too ignorant of their problems to aid them. Now they have to worry about terrorists targeting them because they dared to defy them and leave their homes for the commencement of Operation Zarb-e-Azb. I implore the authorities to beef up security in and around IDP camps wherever they may be so that we can avoid this kind of atrocity against them in the future.
