Sir: Pessimism is the word that explains the state of affairs prevalent in our beloved homeland. The attitude of the VIPs, who deem other citizens as subhuman if not animals, has made this country unlivable. One finds no words to express the unbecoming attitude of these so-called VIPs. On the day of Eid, Tahir Malik, the unfortunate young boy, was shot in the head when he tried to overtake the motorcade of Abdul Qadir Gilani, son of the former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani. Tahir Malik was on his way to distribute meat among his relatives when he was brutally killed. Abdul Qadir did not stop at the scene and fled.
The point is, if Tahir Malik was found threatening, the guard should have used aerial firing only. What made him fire the fatal shot? The audacity of these security guards is often seen on the roads during VIP movement. The irony is that those voted for and elected to serve the people, suddenly become averse to the same people once in office. Is this what our ancestors sacrificed their lives for? Stern action should be taken against the criminals in this case and justice should be served. A human life is more important than the VIP culture.
