Poison spreads

Author: Daily Times

Sir: In Karachi, during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, more than two dozen men have lost their lives after consuming toxic alcohol. I wonder if the public health and other government officials are still waiting for some more deaths to occur before they find the culprits behind this criminal act. While several victims are still fighting for their lives at Jinnah Hospital, it is good to know that the city governments in different parts of the country are taking stern action against the distributers who had supplied this toxic liquor. In Lahore, a person named Sharif has been arrested in Zaman Park after a raid was conducted on his house, where 400 litres of poisonous alcohol was ceased. Authorities from other cities should also take similar action against these criminals.
