Polio drives

Author: Daily Times

Sir: It pleased me immensely to know the fact that tribal leaders in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) have themselves carried forward the anti-polio campaign in their respective tribes. It clearly shows that the nation is united in fighting this crippling disease. Though it is extremely sad that Pakistan is still struggling to end this epidemic while the rest of the world is already polio-free, this fact should not discourage us from fighting it. I feel happy that people have taken it upon themselves to demystify the belief that this is an American conspiracy to make Muslims infertile. Rather, polio is a curse we all must fight to be rid of. Otherwise we are gradually going to isolate ourselves from the world.
