Tribal students get essentials for Ramazan

KHYBER AGENCY: Philanthropists on Sunday distributed Ramazan package among 38 deserving students of Government Boys High School (GBHS), Ghafoor Khan Kalley.

The gathering, organised in the school, was attended by teachers, students and members of civil society.

The package comprised of ghee, sugar, pulses, milk, rice, tea and beans. Speaking on the occasion, Headmaster Bahadur Khan said maximum children studied in state-run educational institutions were poor and a majority of them could not afford school uniform and stationery.

“Extra-talent exists in the government schools students and they can earn a good name for their area if they are really patronized and assist,” Khan added.

He urged the affluent people to come forward and extend their possible support to the students to remove their sense of deprivation and make them useful citizens.

Separately, the Frontier Constabulary (FC) on Sunday recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in the Kabro Mela area of Tehsil Jamrud.

Sources said on a tip the troops seized the ammo which was concealed underground. Later, the arms were shifted to the cantonment. The weapons included 3×4 feet missile with three shells, 24 mortar shells, 1709 rounds of 12.7mm, four rounds of 75mm, 14 rockets, 72 pieces of rockets and 16 rounds.
