Author: Web Desk

Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, a senior officer of the Pakistan Police Service (PSP), is the favourite in the race for the position of Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP).

It should be noted that Aamir Zulfiqar Khan previously worked as a staff officer for Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

Fayyaz Ahmed Dev, another senior police officer, is the second favourite to become Punjab IGP.

It is also worth noting that former IGP Faisal Shahkar refused to work for the Punjab government and instead requested that he be assigned to the federal government by the establishment division.

He had written to the establishment division and asked for an immediate transfer.

The IGP stated in his letter that it was difficult for him to continue his current assignments with the Punjab government. He had given personal reasons for his decision.
