Sir: The resignation of Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, as head of the PM’s Youth Programme is being politicised by Sheikh Rashid from the platform of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI). He is touting it as the first milestone achieved towards the PM’s resignation. However, there is no link between her resignation and the demand for the PM’s. In my opinion Maryam Nawaz, instead of being publicly criticised, should be appreciated for she smoothly disassociated herself from a controversial assignment. Otherwise a court could have proved her ineligible anyway and that would have caused great embarrassment to her and the PML-N.
