Sir: This is apropos “Plan C” as announced by Imran Khan. Unfortunately, his Plan C has overshadowed those citizens of Pakistan who earn their livelihoods on a daily basis. Closing down main cities on specific dates is not a smart move at all. He should think about those labourers who earn daily wages to feed their families. Too many people will suffer because of the politician’s call for shutdowns.
According to newspaper reports, shutdowns inflict a minimum loss of Rs 15 billion to traders and leave 2.5 million daily wage earners jobless. The shutdown will cripple life in Pakistan. I appeal to Imran Khan to reconsider his decision of closing down the cities. Leaders in the past have failed in fulfilling their promises for a better Pakistan but we still have hope in Imran Khan.
