Injustice to Sindhi students

Author: Daily Times

Sir: The ruling party in Sindh, like a mammoth ogre, is making desperate attempts to trample the rights of competent and competitive Sindhi students for the past few months. The news circulated on November 27, 2014, that the Sindh government had decided to snatch the authority for recruitment of jobs for grade 16 and 17 from the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) and had shifted it to selection committees. However, this decision was revisited after some reaction from different sections. But again news appeared in the papers on November 29, 2014, that the Sindh government had now decided to transfer the power of recruitment for only grade 16 jobs to the selection committees. I hereby appeal to the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan and the High Court of Sindh to please take suo motu notice of this decision and question the Sindh government that on what basis is this shift of power being taken? What exactly is the ruling party in Sindh wanting to do? Why is this party bent on depriving Sindhi candidates of their rights? The SPSC is the only organisation in which Sindhi candidates repose some trust. But this shift of recruiting powers from the SPSC to any so-called selection committee would be a grave injustice to the talented students of Sindh.
