Without streetlights

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Karachi is the city of lights but now it is also well known for being the city of crime. The leading cause behind the increase in crime is dark, deserted streets in Karachi. Some places have plenty of streetlights whereas some have close to no lights. Absence of these street lights helps robbers ride near the roadside and snatch whatever any unsuspecting person has in his/her possession. We see a lot of lights in all posh areas such as Defence and Clifton so why not in Malir and Korangi?

Streetlights are a basic need on every street whether that street is in Defence or Landhi. The government and law enforcement authorities should look into this and should facilitate every area equally.
