Sir: In this trying hour the message for the Pakistani nation is: ‘If winter comes, can spring be far behind?’ The word ‘brutality’ is perhaps a very mild expression for the incident in Peshawar. Indeed, the whole nation — from Peshawar to Karachi and from Lahore to Quetta — is in a state of sorrow. Those were not the children of people living in Peshawar, they were the sons and the daughters of every Pakistani.
At this tragic moment, there is no logic, no reason to support or be soft on the Taliban militants. It is time for the leadership, the army and the people of the country to decide exactly what plan of action is needed against the enemies of the country, because we cannot afford another Peshawar-like incident again.
