TV channels

Author: Daily Times

Sir: December 16 is the day when Dhaka fell. Now, it is yet a more mournful day in the history of Pakistan when terrorists killed 131 schoolchildren in Peshawar.

However, the news channels should not have shown such disturbing images the whole day. The parental guidance (PG) logo in the corner of the TV screen is not enough to shield our youth from the gruesome images.
What has been stored in their minds cannot be erased. This is a psychological matter that can gradually destroy the character of the child and put fear in them forever. My young sister, after witnessing all this on TV, shakily asked if the same would happen to her school.
Both the parents and the media should take precautions in future.
