Sir: The people of Tharparkar are facing an acute shortage of food and water due to the worst famine while the concerned authorities are not doing anything to bring them out of this crisis. It is very unfortunate that the Sindh government is doing nothing for the people of Tharparkar. We almost daily hear news about deaths of children in this famine-hit area of Sindh. Through your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the Sindh government’s attention towards the suffering of the people of Tharparkar. The government should launch an aid programme for their survival as soon as possible and take measures to ensure that such famine does not occur in future.
