Sir: The importance of cleanliness cannot be ignored in terms of building a healthy society. Definitely a clean atmosphere is necessary for the mental and physical health of human beings. As a responsible citizen, I want to draw the attention of the higher authorities to the shortage of dustbins/garbage tins on our local streets and roads. The shortage has been resulting in a big environmental degradation. There are no rules and regulations even against those persons who are responsible for spilling garbage openly and littering the roads and streets. Many areas of Karachi like Nipa Chowrangi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and many more areas are badly suffering from pollution due to a lack of dustbins; garbage on the roads always emits a foul smell. I request the authorities concerned to install dustbins on all streets and roads so that garbage is not thrown openly.
