Fatal artificial drinks

Author: Daily Times

Sir: It is a harsh reality that we have become materialistic and artificial while ready-made things are part of our lives. Our drinking habits have changed considerably because we prefer artificial drinks instead of fresh fruit juices. These artificial drinks include all types of soft drinks that are presented to us in an attractive way. Some people consider it a quick source of getting energy and have become addicts of such drinks. These beverages are prepared with a mixture of harmful ingredients like carbonated water, fructose corn syrup, citric acid, phosphoric acid, burnt sugar, sodium, caffeine, niacin and vitamins. These ingredients have harmful effects on human health like weakening the immune system, heart problems, diabetes, blood pressure, dissolving tooth enamel, asthma, allergies, kidney problems, osteoporosis, etc. The cans and packaging of these drinks are coated with a resin that contains Biphenol-A (BPA). BPA is a cancer-causing chemical that wreaks havoc with the endocrine system and causes premature puberty and reproductive abnormalities. So, please do not play havoc with your health and use the fresh juices of seasonal fruits because these provide you energy and strengthen your immunity.
