Overseas Pakistanis SIMs verification

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I wish to point out an important issue that is bothering the overseas Pakistanis these days. It is about the SIMs verification process. The government or the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) have not provided any mechanism for the verification of the SIMs being used by millions of Pakistanis working abroad. I am currently working in Saudi Arabia and using a Ufone SIM in my name. I want to get this SIM verified. I called the Ufone Call Centre but I was told that there was no mechanism for overseas Pakistanis to verify their SIMs. This is a major issue that needs the immediate attention of the PTA. It is hoped that the PTA will take a positive action to resolve this issue.
