Sir: Israel launched its invasion of Palestine on July 6, 2014. This was one of the attacks continuing the long trail of inhumane and illegal attacks on Palestinians in violation of as many charters and sections of international law as one can gloss over. This global vandalism practised by Israel has thoroughly discredited the movement of the repressed Palestinians and has made the Palestine issue a type of less important conflict in world politics. This was amply evident at the UN General Assembly session when only Pakistan invoked the Palestinian issue and even that voice was snubbed by Israeli lobbyists who have permeated all around the corridors of power in major countries. This inhumane, illegal and utterly barbaric behaviour has apparently become the modus operandi of Israel and has extended large benefits to the state of Israel in perpetrating cruelty on the Palestinians. A day before Israel boycotted the UN rights council session that was planned to discuss the alleged abuses by Israel in Palestine. Benjamin Netanyahu has mawkishly and aggressively rejected a two-state solution for the Palestinian Muslims. It appears as though Israel, which has already abandoned the principle of humanity, has become somehow successful in numbing — or in some instances, in proselytising the bigger powers — by restraining them from questioning the conduct of Israel. Already Israel has violated UN sessions and resolutions such a large number of times that if this conduct has been shown — even rarely — by any other country, her image should have been tarnished enough to make its obliteration from the face of the earth a missionary task and a service to humanity. In this world of cold politics and duplicity, is the UN willing to look over its performance when it comes to the implementation of resolutions? Or is it just satisfied with the status quo making a large majority of people disillusioned with this Holy Organisation?
