Author: Daily Times

Sir: A young boy, who had surprised the world with his fastest century, astounded cricket fans with his charismatic performance and amazed other competitors with his powerful game. He had always brought energy to the matches, his unpredictability had entertained crowds and his Boom Boom essence had overwhelmed the atmosphere. The magnificent sixes or wrongly played shots. He is none other than Shahid Khan Afridi, who always brought spark in every match. He took wickets, batted brilliantly or sometimes misjudged shots; every time these moments had created a Boom Boom in the environment. Whether it is a little child or an elderly person, everyone has admired him. In 1996, he started off his career where he made records, bowled magnificently and batted unpredictably. His amazing years had brought numerous records, astonishing moments and enthusiastic victories. He had given phenomenal memories to the world of cricket, which could never be forgotten. Though in the World Cup 2015 he could not deliver the best but at the end of Pakistan’s World Cup journey, fans have bid him farewell with respect and honour. It seems just yesterday when he set the record of the fastest century and today saying goodbye to him is heartbreaking.
