Violence in Karachi

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Every day I read about the incidents of violence in Karachi. However, I would like to present a very different view of Karachi in this letter. Despite being broken and bruised, Karachi is still known as the city of lights. No matter what happens, the city continues to glow. It is this fact that makes Karachi strange and beautiful. I once wondered why people went around wearing, ‘I love Karachi’ shirts. It is only now that I have understood why they wear them.
Travel from the south end of the city to the north, it keeps getting more and more interesting. Visit old and new places; the Sunday Market, Empress Market, Frere Hall, meet new people, talk to them and get to know them. Wherever I go in Karachi, I never feel alone. Karachi is just like a home for all its residents.
