Sir: I would like to invite the attention of the authorities to the issue of child labour in government universities. A few days back, I gave a presentation on child labour at a local university and afterwards I went to the canteen where many underage children workers were working. I felt like a hypocrite advising others to abstain from hiring little children to work in such places. It broke my heart into a million pieces seeing those innocent youngsters working behind dangerous installations without any safety measures. They are working in unhygienic conditions and we do nothing about it.
The government should ban or stop child labour in university canteens and should also take some major steps to provide basic early education to poor children.
