Electricity woes

Author: Daily Times

Sir: With the start of the summer season, the electricity crisis in the country is becoming worse day by day. The power sector requires a complete overhaul and efficient management to utilise the existing power generation capacity to its optimal level. Besides, it is quite encouraging that around 8,000 MW of electricity generation projects are being finalised that would attract a huge foreign direct investment. It would be a good development and can be termed as a great success of the government but the power sector of the country requires more attention. Steps should be taken on a war footing to improve the existing and future power problems in the country.
