Sir: Recently, the average tuition fees of Sir Syed University have been drastically increased from Rs 58,000 to Rs 82,000. The percentage increase in tuition fees this year is 41 percent and the past year it was also increased by six percent. In just one year, the tuition fee rose by 41 percent. The parents of many students have already made hard financial sacrifices to support their children in furthering their education. How will they be able to bear this new burden of almost doubled tuition fees? Many students will be forced to leave. When the tuition increases many students will not be able to afford graduation anymore.
I request the minister of education in the government of Sindh and the concerned authorities of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology not to close the door of education to us but to rather reconsider and reverse the recent increase in semester fee.
