Sir: It is imperative that all provincial and district governments make it mandatory for all traders and shopkeepers to follow the government approved price lists for all essential food items and that anyone found not observing them be dealt with firmly. We, the citizens, who have been fasting and following God’s word this holy month, are tired of the backhandedness and corruption that we are faced with every day. We are tired of being fleeced by heartless markets and retailers who think only of profits. The world over, Muslim countries facilitate the citizens during the month of Ramzan but here, in the land of the ‘pure’, we make every effort to make this the most difficult time for all those who are fasting.
Shame on this nation and shame on its rulers for being complacent during this time.
