Capital excited over ‘mind-blowing’ Black Friday deals

ISLAMABAD: If you need to get special concession on shopping then avail the opportunity of “Black Friday”, turn on your computer, laptop, or smartphone and visit certain kind of online shopping websites like Symbios.pk, Homeshopping.pk, Daraz.pk, and many others and acquire a lot of discount.

There are dozens of online shopping websites working in the country and they are offering different discounts on shopping with them in connection with Black Friday saying that it was a western transferred concept to our country. Black Friday is considered a shopping day across the world that started from fourth Friday of November each year. It marks the unofficial beginning of the Christmas shopping season. Black Friday was celebrated in the United States. The United States held a public holiday on Thanksgiving Day on the fourth Thursday of November in every year since 1789.

The Black Friday seems like a prior delighting event of Christmas and New Year celebrations. This trend remains very popular in the west countries. The stores in the all markets remain open round the clock and they offered special discounts on shopping with them.While they sold their products at prices much than usual. Although in Pakistan’s markets the existence of Black Friday concept is not popular so significantly, but this trend prevails enormously on the online shopping websites. These websites used to offered special discounts to their clients and their products comprised many categories which were being sold like hot cakes.

Symbios.pk, General Manager (GM) operations Aqib Mughal shared the details with Daily Times according to which Symbios.pk has announced the launch of Black Friday accord the country from November 25, 2016. Like other online shopping websites, according to Mughal, the Symbios.pk also has offered amazing discounts to buyers everywhere on consumer products. “Black Friday discounts are up to 90 per cent”, he shared. According to GM operation, the offered discounts were on various kind of products including Mobiles and Tablets, Laptops and Computers, Fashion and Life Style, Home and Kitchen Appliance, and Toys and Games. He further disclosed that this discounts would be also on Winter Essentials including; Heaters, Coffee Makers and Winter Wear.

“Buyers can also take advantage on the stock clearance where products will be available in up to 90 per cent. As well as the women prêt and unstitched clothes, jewellery, hand bags, shoes and much more. Kids and Men prêt, footwear, accessories, bags, and many other special eye catching discounts will be offered which you won’t be able to resist”, Mughal claimed. He further disclosed that this shopping festival was for the whole family from all segments of age. As far as the transferring money methodology was concerned, Mughal said the in price/money for purchased items could be paid through Easypaisa mobile account, VISA/MasterCard. A CEO of another online shopping website known as Homeshopping.pk, Sohail told this correspondent that they are also offering special discounts to the clients in connection with Black Friday.

According to the CEO most selling products are Mobile Phones, TVs, and laptops. A mobile telecommunication company-Mobilink in collaboration with Yayvo.com also made a strategy “Yayvo – Jazz Cash Black Friday 2016” to attack more and more clients. Under the strategy the customers can avail exciting discounts on their favourite products. As per details 10,000 different products are being offered under this programme.

“We want shoppers nationwide to know that Yayvo – JazzCash Black Friday 2016 is an occasion which is not to be missed. The discounts we are offering on the hottest products in the market are unmatched. Noticing a lot eagerness amongst shoppers, starting from today, we are going live at 6 pm with a mix of a discount deals on all our range of product categories,” said Adam Dawood, Head of Yayvo.com The TCS also offered special sale both in online and offline forms. It offered hundreds of products as some of them are just for Friday and some others are till November 27. The offering discounts were from 20 per cent to 90 per cent.

On the other hand, apart from Black Friday, some citizens who experienced the online shopping rejected the online shopping websites services. Daily Times spoke to many such users and learned that most of them did not have good consensus for these kinds of services.

Syeda Batool said that had several experiences many times with the online shopping and learnt that she would never do this again after now.

“Recently, I purchased three long cardigans for her and her family. But then I find these cardigans very useless after even one wash”, Batool said. Rana Hashim Ali says he experienced just one time of online shopping but would never do this practice again in his life. “I purchased the VR box for my mobile phone but after the use of few days I came to know the product had very poor quality.”

While quoting the example of dresses, Ali said the websites offered even below than Rs 300 for a shirt piece that apparently looks like brands but after a single wash that shirt is not to fit to be dressed.”
