I salute judges who declared Imran sadiq, ameen: Nawaz

Published on: January 21, 2018 3:31 AM

HARIPUR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday saluted the judges who termed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman sadiq and ameen, and added that those making tall claims of change had completely failed to take steps for welfare of common man.

Addressing a rally of PML-N in Haripur, Nawaz Sharif said that masses were well aware of their well-wishers and they had rejected those engaged in lip services and doing nothing on ground.

He said that countrymen were fed up of politics of allegations and agitations, instead they wanted resolution of their guanine issues rather than verbal claims, which had given nothing to them.

The PML-N president said that flopped show of the opposition parties on The Mall some days ago proved that the masses were no more interested in politics of agitation and confrontation and they had rejected the so-called leaders involved in political blame game.

Talking jibe at Imran Khan for his anti-parliament statement, he said that Imran cursed at the same assembly from which he was elected and had been drawing salary for the last four-and-a-half years.

He added that the man abused and accused everyone when he cursed parliament.

Addressing the participants of the rally, PML-N leader and former PM Nawaz Sharif’s daughter, Maryam Nawaz, said that the people of Pakistan have always voted heavily for her party in every election and PML-N opponents will again be disappointed in next elections.

She said that when Nawaz Sharif was busy working on development projects, his opponents were on containers.

Maryam Nawaz flayed the opposition and said, referring to PTI Chairman Imran Khan, that he should not blame rigging in the upcoming polls as “empty chairs do not lie”.

“Those sitting on the stage in Model Town know what will become of them in the upcoming elections,” and added that the people defeated the “conspirators”.

Taking aim at Imran, Maryam further asked why would defeat not become his fate as he [Imran] has done nothing for his province during the last four years.

She also praised the people of the area for supporting the PML-N and asked them to continue doing so in the next general elections.

Maryam further said that PML N opponents would not have waited for empire’s finger, if they had worked in their government’s tenure.

Pointing at opponents, PML-N leader said that when Nawaz Sharif was constructing electricity houses, the opposition parties were busy in abusing incumbent government on containers.

She said that when Nawaz Sharif was initiating and accomplishing projects like China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), his opponents were wasting their time on container that is why they have failed completely in their plans.

Maryam Nawaz alleged that battalion of conspirers faced humiliating defeat during Mall Road protest. Nation should promise to give respect to elected prime minister, she urged.

The PML-N leader said that opposition has failed to upset the government despite holding sit-ins and leveling rigging allegations. PML-N will again win 2018 general, Maryam claimed and added that when opposition faces rout, it starts criticizing the parliament.
