Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday invited American investors to explore investment opportunities in the province’s vast mineral resources, tourism, energy, health and education sectors.

He extended the invitation during a meeting with US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A Baker here at the Governor House, where both sides discussed avenues for economic cooperation, foreign investment and development partnerships in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The meeting focused on investment prospects in minerals, tourism, energy, health and education, as well as measures to promote foreign investment and strengthen economic ties. They also discussed expanding educational scholarship opportunities for youth from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the merged tribal districts.

The two sides agreed on enhancing Pakistan-US cooperation in development initiatives and investment promotion in the province.

Discussions also covered new opportunities in energy, tourism and human resource development, with emphasis on the role of the private sector and international investment in achieving sustainable development.

The overall law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also came under discussion.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Kundi said the province was rich in valuable and rare mineral resources, offering significant opportunities for international investors.

He urged US businesses to invest in the province’s mineral, tourism, energy and healthcare sectors.

The meeting also reviewed efforts to promote sports talent in the province.

The Governor said the Khyber Cricket League would be held in July to provide opportunities for young players to showcase their abilities.

Governor Kundi expressed concern over the closure of the US Consulate in Peshawar and stressed that exchanges of trade delegations were essential for increasing bilateral trade volume between the two countries.

Natalie Baker expressed interest in supporting modern skills development and training programmes for the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She also congratulated the Governor on the Pakistan Peoples Party’s success in the Gilgit Baltistan elections.

Governor Kundi attributed the party’s victory to the effective election campaign led by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and party workers. Later, Governor Kundi hosted a luncheon in honour of the US Chargé d’Affaires.
