Preliminary figures from Armenia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) showed Civil Contract securing 57.14% of the vote based on ballots counted from the first 110 polling stations out of a total of 2,005 nationwide. The early count placed the ruling party well ahead of its closest rivals in the race for seats in the 101-member National Assembly.

Strong Armenia, led by businessman Samvel Karapetyan, was running in second place with 21.4% of the vote. The Armenia Alliance, headed by former president Robert Kocharyan, followed with 8.2%, according to the initial results.
Polling stations across the country closed at 8 p.m. local time after a day of voting that drew significant public participation. The CEC reported that nearly 1.5 million voters cast ballots from approximately 2.5 million registered voters, resulting in a turnout of 58.97%.
A total of 16 political parties and two political alliances contested the election, reflecting a broad political field seeking representation in Armenia’s legislature. Final results are expected after all ballots are counted and verified by election authorities.
The parliamentary vote is being closely watched as a test of public support for Pashinyan’s government, which has faced political challenges in recent years over security, economic and regional issues. Civil Contract entered the election as the dominant force in parliament, holding 69 seats following the 2021 snap election.

While the early results indicate a strong performance by the ruling party, election officials cautioned that the figures remain preliminary and could change as counting continues across the country.
The outcome of the election will determine the composition of Armenia’s next parliament and shape the country’s political direction in the years ahead.
