Pakistan has activated a locally developed automated monitoring platform to strengthen protection against increasing cyber threats targeting government websites and digital infrastructure. The new system aims to detect potential cyber attacks in real time and improve the country’s ability to respond quickly to emerging security risks.
The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) has started continuous monitoring of more than 1,500 government websites and applications across the country. Officials say the platform has been designed to identify suspicious online activity instantly and notify relevant authorities whenever a potential cyber threat is detected.

According to officials, the system automatically sends real-time alerts to concerned institutions, allowing them to respond quickly before any major damage occurs. This early warning mechanism is expected to enhance coordination among government agencies and strengthen overall cybersecurity preparedness.
At present, the automated platform is monitoring 1,527 important websites that belong to various government institutions and key sectors. These include 407 websites operated by the federal government, along with hundreds of digital platforms managed by provincial administrations.

In addition, websites managed by Gilgit-Baltistan authorities and 133 platforms from Azad Kashmir are also included in the monitoring network.
Furthermore, the system also tracks online platforms in the private and financial sectors to strengthen broader cybersecurity protection. Authorities confirmed that 119 private sector websites and 44 banking websites are part of the monitoring system to ensure early detection of cyber threats and safeguard critical digital services.
