The district administration of Haripur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced a three-day holiday for all schools ahead of the NA-18 by-election to ensure a peaceful voting environment.
According to the official notification, educational institutions will remain closed on November 22, 23, and 24 to prevent any untoward incidents during electoral activities in the district.
Authorities emphasized that the closure aims to maintain calm around polling stations, allowing students, staff, and voters to carry out their activities safely without disruptions or security concerns.

Meanwhile, across Pakistan, winter holidays and exam schedules are gaining momentum, with schools in colder regions like Balochistan set to close for a two-and-a-half-month winter break starting December 16.
In Chaman, annual exams for classes 1 to 7 are underway from November 16 to 24, while board exams for class 8 are scheduled to begin on November 24, ensuring timely academic assessments.

In Punjab, winter holidays are planned from December 23, 2025, to January 11, 2026, with schools reopening on January 13, 2026, and authorities confirmed that no early closure is planned despite smog concerns in some areas.
