PESHAWAR – At least three people were injured when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detonated in the Phandu Road area within Chamkani police station limits on Sunday morning. Qari Salahuddin, his driver and a passenger were wounded when an IED went off as their vehicle passed by it, Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Khalid said. The three injured have been shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital. Qari Salahuddin is an Afghan national who taught at a seminary in the neighbourhood, the DSP said. Television footage showed a badly damaged car at the site of the explosion, which has now been cordoned off.
