Terrorist blows himself up as bomb plot foiled in Jhelum

JHELUM – A suspected terrorist blew himself up after exchanging fire with police in Domeli Mor area of Jhelum on Thursday morning.

According to channel, the terrorist who attempted to plant explosives on railway tracks near Grand Trunk Road blew himself up when police approached him, police sources said, adding that a citizen had reported a ‘suspicious individual’ to the motorway police.

“The terrorist exchanged fire with police before blowing himself up with a hand grenade,” police said. Police said that they recovered hand grenade and two pistols from the encounter scene. A heavy contingent of police – along with the district police officer – has reached the site of the explosion and cordoned off the area. A search operation is under way.
