KARACHI – At least eight suspected terrorists were killed while two policemen sustained bullet wounds during an encounter in the city’s Pipri area on Monday.

Initial reports suggest that the Sindh Police and intelligence agencies carried out the joint-raid on information gathered through the interrogation of arrested terrorists Naeem Bukhari and Farooq Bhatti. SSP Malir Rao Anwar confirmed the incident and the casualties.

Meanwhile, Sindh Rangers arrested unknown number of suspected extortionists belonging to banned People’s Aman Committee in a separate raid.
