CDA suspends four officials on notorious activities in civic body’s inquiry office

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman has taken action on the news item published in Daily Times and suspended four officials over the unethical activities, gambling, drinking and bet on pigeon flying at CDA’s Inquiry Office at Dhoke Kala Khan.

Those officials who were suspended under 1992 Service Regulation including Work Supervisor Abid Bajwa, Machine Operator Taseer Ahmed, Baledar Ali Muhammad and Muhammad Ashraf. They all were working in Road Division–III and CDA Road Directorate (South). However, two officials including CDA Enforcement Inspector Babar Sohail and Chowkidar Chaudhary Babar by giving concession to them as the high-ups kept their eyes closed towards the misdeeds of both officials.

After the news item published in Daily Times, CDA’s Security Department raided the Inquiry Office at Dhoke Kala Khan where drunk officials were playing cards during the duty timings on which the explanation was called from the Deputy Director Rana Muhammad Rizwan, Assistant Director Sajjad Shabir Ullah and Sub Engineer Athar Ali. It is pertinent to mention here that the Inquiry Office at Dhoke Kala Khan has become the hideout of all immoral activities like drinking, gambling, betting of flying pigeon, taking drugs and immoral dancing of girls.

The officials deputed there supervised the entire criminal actions and even they constructed rooms beside the office illegally, which were used for drinking and taking drugs and other ghastly doings at night. They also made nets for the pigeons, however the administration neither removed illicit rooms nor birds abode yet. The sources said that the Enforcement Inspector Babar Sohial and Chowkidar Chaudhary Babar rented out these unlawful constructed rooms during night for dissipated practices. It is also pertinent to mention here that the enforcement inspector remained behind the bar and was released on April 11th on interim bail on the charges of becoming facilitator to the slums areas of the federal capital. The CDA’s office at Dhok Kala Khan full of non-employees especially notorious elements could be seen every time duze to which the people living near the office were disturbed badly. The succession of wrongdoings was continued for the last two years but no action was taken in this regard. Although the four officials were suspended but they would get full pay and allowances during their suspension period.
