ISLAMABAD – The Grupo Fantasma, an American music band, wishes to produce some valuable collaborative music with Pakistani musicians to present music traditions of both the countries.

The band members are on a visit to Pakistan and organising music concerts in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. The concerts are sponsored by the US Embassy in partnership with the Foundation for Arts and Culture (FACE). The band members said that it will be great to produce collaborative music with Pakistani musician.

They said that music was an essential tool to connect people across cultures and between the countries. “In Grupo Fantasma’s music, we hear influences from across the world, including South Asia,” US Embassy’s Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer Erin Molnar said.

She said that their music was a great example of how music adapts and absorbs influences from other cultures. “It’s perfect reflection of American culture, which also blends traditions from all over the world,” she said. The band has been praised as one of music’s most important and unique independent Latin genre acts to come out of the US in the last decade.
