NAB seeks data of plots allotted to relatives of CDA officials

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has asked the Deputy Director General Land and Estate of Capital Development Authority (CDA) to provide complete data about plots allotted to wives and relatives of the staffers of the department against the land claims of the affectees.

The employees working in land and estate department of CDA are deeply involved in business of purchasing land claims from the affectees and several staff members of this department has got transferred the plots in the name of their wives and relatives in sector I-10, Margalla Town and other areas against the affectees claims.

According to documents available with Daily Times business of purchasing claims of affectees is at its peak in land department of CDA. Officers and subordinate staff of this department are minting money from this lucrative business.

Senior Assistant Malik Khizar Hayat, Amir Shahzad, Abdul Rahim, Khalid Khokhar and others who are performing duties in land department have got transferred plots at large scale to their wives and relatives. The documents revealed that these CDA employees have taken over possession of these plots which they have got transferred to their wives.

Dealing assistant Khizar Hayat Satti who is resident of I-10/1 sector has got transferred plot No 1742-C to his wife Uzma Parveen in sector I-10/2 and dealing assistant Amir Shahzad, resident of sector G-9/3 got transferred plot No 604-cc to his wife Yasmin Tahira Amir in sector I-10/1.

Likewise Khalid Khokhar, Assistant Director Department Of Building Control Section who was earlier sent to jail on the charges of accumulating assets beyond his sources of income has got allotted a plot No 1446-c in the name of his close relative, Ghulam Hussain Raza in sector I-14/1. These all employees have taken over possession of their respective plots.

Member Administration CDA had issued directives to security wing that entry of unauthorised persons be stopped in land department. But to what extent these orders have been complied can be seen from a row of property dealers who are always fond occupying all the chairs in rooms of directors of land department.

No contact could be made with member administration Amir Ali Ahmad despite persistent efforts by Daily Times while deputy director general Islam Shah gave no reply on this count.
