ISLAMABAD: Punjab’s Minister for Finance Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha has said that the budget 2016-17 of the province is in final stages of formulation. Talking to a private news channel, she said that new opportunities and avenues would be ensured in the budget. She said that additional funds will be provided for education and health sectors. She said that special focus was being given to the development of far-flung and backward areas of the province. She said that energy shortage issue was a priority of the provincial government, adding that youngsters would also be provided with special training which was demand of the international market. The minister said that deserving people would be provided with interest-free loans to start business. Replying to a question, she said that focus will be laid on completion of ongoing schemes in next year’s development programme. Those schemes which are near completion will also be given preference and the schemes which were not included in Annual Development Programme (ADP) last year will be included in the budget of current fiscal year, she added.
