ISLAMABAD: Senate on Monday offered Fateha for the departed soul of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali who passed away few days ago.
Leader of the House Raja Muhammad Zafarul Haq led the Fateha on the request of Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani.
On the other hand, Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of world’s greatest heavy-weight boxing legend Muhammad Ali.
“Muhammad Ali was not only a greatest sportsman but also among greatest human being who fought against his opponents with same spirit whether it was boxing ring or against racism and discrimination against his people,” he said in a statment issued by party secretariat.
Bilawal said that Muhammad Ali will add as a golden chapter into the history of mankind for his bold and straight forward struggle, which changed negative thoughts and attitudes of millions of people towards human equality around the world.
Paying tributes to the boxing icon, he said that Muhammad Ali will remain in the memories of all people especially the generations of millions of people whose lives marked great improvements due to his efforts and narratives.
