PESHAWAR: Nazar Muhammad, a resident of Maneri Payan, district Swabi on Thursday appealed to Chief Justice Peshawar High Court, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Inspector General of Police (IGP) asking for protection from the land mafia. Talking to reporters in the premises of press club, he said that he had 700 canal lands in the village of Maneri Payan and had full documental proofs of the land. He alleged that a land mafia group, with the support of Janas Khan, Shah Said, and Zard Ali Khan along with patwari Muhammad Sohail, gardawar Said Johar, tehsildar Gul Ghazi Khan and Jahangir wanted to capture his land by force and used various tactics in this regard. He maintained that the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Peshawar High Court and other lower courts had heard 23 decisions in his favour and had saved all the proof and records of the courts but that did not stop the intimidation of the land mafia group. He said that he received threats from the oppositions and compelled him to sign the land over by force. Similarly, he said that he someone had shot at him when he was out in the concerned area for work, adding that anti-corruption had also heard a decision in his favour but the court’s decisions fell on deaf ears. His opponents had even been fined Rs. 10 million for contempt of court, and concluded that he had no choice but to beseech the Chief Justice for protection.
